Sam Jungkurth's spontaneous and intimate new series, "Nudes in a Geometric Landscape", combines the classic with the contemporary. Painterly figures exist in a geometric landscape that varies in scope and size. By rearranging the small panels, which compose the larger geometric design, the compositions gain a fresh dynamic. Painted with a deftness of hand exposing naked delight, the figures inhabit these abstract worlds much like city dwellers exist in contemporary architecture; yet, they retain their human focus. The color is lurid and the subject matter tantalizing.

Jungkurth has explored this working method previously with his "Geometric Abstractions" and in his "Flower Series". Multiple paintings composed of smaller panels were combined and arranged to create monumental works of art.
