In the exhibition, “Reflections on Windows”, Margaret Leveson gives expression to a recurring theme in her work: the character of light. Here, windows play with light, admitting, reflecting and refracting it. They frame space – delineate it, illuminate it – providing abstract to naturalistic views into other worlds. The result is paintings that are colorful, playful and evocative. The paintings are in oils. They were executed both directly and in the studio.
Margaret Leveson has been exhibiting since 1978. She has had many one-person shows both in and out of New York City, with regular exhibits at Blue Mountain Gallery and at Longyear Gallery, Margaretville, New York. Her work is in many private collections both in the United States and abroad..
