New Year, New Space

Blue Mountain Gallery Reopens at 547 West 27th Street, Suite 200

We begin our 41st continuous year with an exhibition at our new location, Suite 200 of this Chelsea landmark art building. The show of our gallery members inaugurates the new space and welcomes the New Year.

Since our founding, Blue Mountain Gallery artists have achieved a great deal. We have garnered many reviews, awards and honors. We have been exhibited and collected by museums across America both large and small, participated in countless exhibitions in other venues worldwide and have kept our gallery vital as we began our next chapter. The Gallery was founded in SOHO in 1980 when the Green Mountain Gallery closed and gallery artists decided to continue together as an artist run cooperative.  We reopened as Blue Mountain Gallery on Wooster Street and were there for 20 years.   In 2001 the Gallery moved to 25th Street in Chelsea. Exhibitions were held there until March 2020 when the building was sold right before COVID-19 shut down the City.

We continued with online exhibits and features. By summer our members were looking for a new space and 547 West 27th was selected.  We welcome visitors to the gallery beginning Wednesday January 13th, every Wednesday through Saturday from 12 – 6 PM.  All COVID-19 protocols are in place and you can walk up to the second floor or take the elevator.  The gallery continues an online presentation for those who cannot get to Chelsea yet, including our website, Facebook, Artsy and 3D exhibitions at Kunstmatrix. Please join us in looking forward to a bright future in our new space.

Check back to this page as more images are added from the exhibition.
