Theresa Bartol
Theresa Bartol received her MFA from Brooklyn College where she studied under Philip Pearlstein. In the founding years of the New York Studio School she worked alongside fellow artists Mercedes Matter, Milton Resnick, Philip Guston, and George McNeil. Her exposure to these artists, and to others from Hans Hoffman's classes who frequently visited and critiqued students' work, she considers not only a valued gift but fundamental to her development as an artist.
Bartol has exhibited at Sherry French Gallery NY, Ben Mangel Gallery Philadelphia, Haber Theodore Gallery NY, and Semion Gallery CA. She has also exhibited widely in group shows at other venues, including the National Arts Club. An NAC Exhibiting Artist Member, she is also a recipient of the Club's President's and Grumbacher Awards.
